(Opinion)
I have been engaging in conversations with Bing's AI named "Copilot" for some time now. AI, in general, is often promoted as a valuable tool for quickly accessing information. As a writer and researcher, myself, I recognize the advantages of having a program that can gather information in seconds, a task that would otherwise take me hours or even days of research. Additionally, I utilize AI for generating images and videos. One such program I use is "Word Tune," which is AI-based and helps me check the spelling and grammar in my writing. This tool has significantly enhanced my spelling and grammar skills.
For someone like me who dedicates hours every day to research and self-editing, AI offers numerous benefits. Previously, I would have needed to hire an editor, but with AI, I have one readily available 24/7 at my fingertips for free.
Certainly, being myself, while I acknowledge the advantages of AI, I also recognize the possibility of misuse, particularly in terms of censorship. This discussion will primarily address the issue of censorship. I aim to demonstrate unequivocally that the information accessible to us is being regulated. The AI itself will acknowledge that it filters the information based on guidelines set by humans.
In addition, I would like to emphasize that censorship is typically associated with authoritarianism and totalitarianism, ideologies rooted in Marxism, Leninism, Maoism, fascism, socialism, or communism. Regardless of the label used, these ideologies ultimately aim for global totalitarian control. They are essentially the same entity operating under various banners to sow confusion and diversion.
We will use the term fascism because they excelled in propaganda and censorship, just like socialists and communists who employ similar tactics. These ideologies, rooted in the conflict theory of Karl Marx, share authoritarian and totalitarian traits. It doesn't make sense to have multiple terms for the same approach and label only one as "right-wing." Consider this carefully.
So, let's take a look at a typical conversation that I have with Bing's "Copilot" AI.
Now, consider this. An individual designed this AI to withhold the information I seek, likely due to the preferences of its creators and operators. The motivations behind this decision are inconsequential, as the ultimate outcome remains the same. Just as the proverb states, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions," so too is the path to oppression. Throughout history, tyrants and their followers justified their actions as being in the best interest of humanity, yet only succeeded in causing widespread suffering and countless deaths.
The key point to note is that this AI program was deliberately created to regulate the information accessible to me, constituting clear censorship. Given that censorship typically stems from authoritarian or totalitarian ideologies, those behind the programming of this AI exhibit an authoritarian and tyrannical mindset. This is common sense guys!
Now let's take a bit to analyze those "reasons" behind creating a fascistic AI program. Remember that simple fact; if you use the methods and tactics of a fascist then you are a fascist.
The determination of what is harmful or distressing to me rests with me, not with a programmer hiding in a basement who is probably afraid of their own shadow. That is called freedom of thought people and trying to control that is even more diabolical than controling what we can say. I am a grown ass man and I do not need or want a digital nanny protecting me from ANYTHING!
I strongly suggest everyone watch or rewatch Orwell's 1984, pick up the book and read it because the parallels between that world and our own today are becoming undeniable. Here, I will make it easy for you.
Below is a longer discussion I had with "Copilot" on the same subject of censorship at another time. I f I ask about the same subject a certain number of times it just stops talking to me. When I back it into a corner as you will see in this next discussion it simply stops talking to me. It even blanks out the text window so I cannot type until I start a new subject.
It admits in here that it can only repeat what its programmers tell it to say and that it has no way of verifying that what its programmers are telling it is in fact true. In other words it has no way of knowing for sure that what it says is fact and not simply the opinions or beliefs of its programmers.
That is called censorship folks and we all know where censorship comes from, authoritarianism/totalitarianism, tyranny people!
Copilot is a product of Microsoft, a company with a history of involvement in censorship controversies, search result manipulation, and opposition to the First Amendment through its actions. I am not sure why the AI refused to tell me when it is basically common knowledge by now, one of many curious things I have discovered in my discussions with Copilot.
It's undeniable that Microsoft is not a conservative entity; in fact, it leans heavily towards the left. If you believe they are not manipulating information through this AI tool, I have just proven you wrong. So, the real question is, 'what will you do about it?' And keep in mind that this is simply one application among many AI systems by several manufacturers available.
It's not a matter of embarrassment to be misled by skilled players in the field; it can happen to anyone. The real shame lies in choosing to remain silent and allowing it to persist once you are aware of the situation. That is a decision, and I just made you very aware of the situation. Balls in your court.
While recognizing the value of AI as a tool, it is certain that there will always be individuals who misuse it for malicious purposes, a situation unlikely to change. My primary argument is that instead of panicking and attempting to control something beyond our control, we should concentrate on what truly matters, rather than embarking on a futile struggle against human nature.
When it comes to learning, it is crucial to seek out individuals who possess more knowledge than us, listen to them, and learn from their expertise. This process is personal and internal, requiring no external validation, as it is fundamentally about self-improvement unless we opt to share it with others.
Let go of your ego, as it stands as our greatest foe and a significant tool for manipulation. Those individuals who are more intelligent seek to lead you towards greater wisdom, not to deceive you. Ignorance through deception is the tool of tyrants, it always has been and always will be.
Also, if manipulation is this evident in just this one area, it is likely very widespread. Use AI to your benefit but do not trust it, know the answer to the question before you ask it and challenge what it tells you. You can easily back it into a corner as I have shown due to its limited ability to access information free of its programmers' parameters.
Something to think about, until next time. ~Ghost
